Jeongdong Culture Night is a festival
that Seoul’s Jung-gu district started in 2015.
News articles call it ‘Korea’s first
night festival at cultural heritage sites’.
Last year it was held in May,
and about 133,000 people came over two days.
This year it moves to autumn nights in October.
This year’s theme is
’Jeongdong, In a New Light’.
The program has seven strands,
each named with ‘ya (夜)’, meaning night:
night openings of venues (Yahwa),
guided tours (Yaro), hands-on activities (Yasa),
plus performances, night views,
a Moonlight Market and Jeongdong Yacham (night snacks).
