Want a quick overview?

🎪 What Kind of Event Is It?

Until 2025,
it was called the ‘Gangneung Noodle Fest.‘
This year, for its 5th edition,
it’s been renamed the ‘Gangneung Noodle Festival.’

It’s a gourmet festival where you can taste
noodle dishes beloved in Gangneung—
like Jang Kalguksu, Makguksu, Jjamppong,
and Potato Ongsimi Kalguksu—all in one place.

From Gangneung’s most famous restaurants
to hidden noodle spots in the alleys,
they’re all gathering here.

Admission is free.

🛤️ What Is Wolhwa Street Like?

According to Gangneung City’s September 29 press release,
Wolhwa Street is a road built on the old railway line
that runs from Gangneung Station through downtown
to Namdaecheon Stream.

A walking path and cultural spaces have replaced the tracks,
and if you stroll along, you’ll reach Jungang Market
and nearby alleys.

Gangneung City selected Wolhwa Street
as an October recommended destination
for the ‘2026~2027 Visit Gangneung Years.’
