2026 Daehyeon Library Webtoon Festa Date, Activities, Author Talk – Before Visiting Buk-gu, Daegu with Kids

Autumn is a good season for reading,
and a neighborhood library’s front yard
turns into a webtoon festival 📚

The 3rd Daehyeon Library Webtoon Festa (제3회 대현도서관 웹툰페스타)
takes place on October 17 (Sat), 11:00–18:00
in the front yard of Daehyeon Library in Buk-gu, Daegu.

This year’s theme is
’The Library Becomes a Webtoon’.

I’ve summarized the Daegu Buk-gu Office notice (September 29)
and the Daehyeon Library notices, including the author talk sign-up.

🎪 About the Festival

It’s Daehyeon Library’s third webtoon festival.
The notice says it’s for
”anyone, including children, teens and families.”

According to a news report (October 7),
the Haengbok Bukgu Cultural Foundation and Daehyeon Library run it together,
and as a library specializing in webtoons,
they’ve gathered performances, exhibitions, activities and a talk in one place.

⏰ What Happens When?

Here are only the items with announced times.
The 13:00 item comes from a news report,
not from the official notice.

Schedules for each performance and booth
are not in the official information yet.

🎨 What Activities Are There?

I’ve grouped the activity booths
from the Buk-gu Office notice.

A news report also mentions a stamp tour.
Activity fees and whether advance sign-up is needed
are not in the notice yet.

🎤 Stage and Author Talk

The notice lists four stage programs:
children’s songs and anime songs by kids from
Sinam Elementary School’s Neulbom program,
teen K-POP dance,
a family cosplay parade,
and a performance by the Nangman (Romantic) Band.
A news report also mentions gugak and jazz performances.

At 14:00, Joo Dong-geun,
author of the webtoon “All of Us Are Dead” (지금 우리 학교는), gives a talk.
The topic is “What Happens When You Keep Doing What You Love” (per news report).
”All of Us Are Dead” was made into
a Netflix original series in 2022.

Sign-up for the talk opened on October 1 at 09:00
on the library website, first come, first served,
for “50 local residents.”
According to the news report,
a Q&A and book signing follow the talk.

🚇 Getting There & Parking

The address is 43 Daehyeonnam-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu (대구 북구 대현남로 43).
I’ve brought over the library website’s “Directions” page.

Parking isn’t mentioned in the event notice
or on the library website.
If you’re driving, ask the library (053-320-5170)
first.

👨‍👩‍👧 If You’re Visiting with Kids

With younger kids, start with hands-on booths like
character face painting,
pin-button making and the AI webtoon character photo studio.
There’s also a balloon giveaway.

With teens, combine the K-POP dance and cosplay stage
with the 14:00 author talk.

October 17 (Sat) is not a library closing day
(regular closures in October are on the 12th and 26th).
