Our own trip, not sponsored. Submarine prices, timetable and parking are from the official Udo Submarine pages (checked September 2026); restaurant banner prices are as we photographed them in May 2026, and the restaurant's menu, hours and parking are from Naver Place (checked October 6, 2026). Our Jeju trip, car and all 🚢

From May 1 to 4, 2026,
3 nights and 4 days in Jeju!

We put our car on the ferry
at Nokdong Port in Goheung
and sailed across.

This post is less a review
than a record.

All we kept were
the submarine booking confirmation,
the timestamps on our photos,
and a one-line review
we left for a hairtail restaurant.

We never noted down
the tastes or what the kids said,
so we leave those out
and add the official
Udo Submarine information instead.

🚗 May 1, by ferry from Nokdong

On day one we loaded our car
onto the ferry at Nokdong Port
in Goheung, South Jeolla,
and arrived at Jeju Port.

We have no photos
from after we got off the ship,
so we leave the rest of that day out.

🌊 May 2, 12:45 — Udo Submarine

The heart of day two
was the Udo Submarine.

We booked it on Naver on April 29,
and the confirmed sailing was
Saturday, May 2 at 12:45 pm.

The product name said
“[Early-bird] special price!!”,
and the confirmed total was
140,000 won.

The confirmation screen
didn’t say how many people
that covered, so we stop there.

We have no photos from inside
the submarine or under the sea.

So here is only
what the official site says
(checked September 2026).

🔑 KICKYou board the Udo Submarine
at Seongsan Port, not on Udo!
Be at the terminal ticket office
20 minutes before sailing

Where to board
Seongsan Port Ferry Terminal,
submarine ticket office inside —
fill in a boarding form, then get tickets

The route
Seongsan Port → the dive → Seongsan Port
It’s not a ride you take
after going over to Udo

The submarine
Yonggung No. 51, up to 54 people
12 viewing windows on each side
coral colonies at 30 m, a feeding show
and an “undersea wine” performance
(as the official info describes it)

ID
Every passenger brings an original ID —
children need a document too,
such as a passport

Weather and cancellations
It sails in the rain,
but swells and sea conditions
can stop it — check that morning!
Cancel the day before: full refund;
same-day cancellation or no-show: no refund

The current official base timetable
09:45 · 10:30 · 11:15
13:30 · 14:15 · 15:00
doesn’t include the 12:45 sailing
we booked.

The site says sailings change
with sea weather and minimum passenger numbers,
so go by the times
on your booking screen.

📸 15:48 — Udo’s white stairs

Our next record after the submarine
is 3:48 pm, on Udo island.

We took our car
over to Udo by ferry, too.

On black basalt rocks
stands a single white staircase
leading up into the sky,
with ‘우도 비양 카페’ (Udo Biyang Cafe)
on the front.

Udo — the white-stair photo spot marked '우도 비양 카페' (Udo Biyang Cafe), with basalt rocks and the sea beyond

Udo — the white-stair photo spot marked '우도 비양 카페' (Udo Biyang Cafe), with basalt rocks and the sea beyond

The sky was overcast that day.

The kids spread their arms
at the top of the stairs,
and we took eight photos
in two minutes —

all of them show faces,
so we only share
the bottom of the stairs.

We have no record
of where else we went on Udo.

🐟 Evening — Seongsan Bada Punggyeong

Dinner that night was in Seongsan, at
Seongsan Bada Punggyeong (성산바다풍경), Seongsan Ilchulbong branch.

The one-line review we left on Naver:
good value, fast turnover,
tasty, and
”the free whole hairtail was the best!!!”

For keywords we picked
’generous portions’,
‘good side dishes’
and ‘fresh ingredients’.

📍 Seongsan Bada Punggyeong (성산바다풍경) — open in Naver Map

Banner — order braised fish, get a whole grilled hairtail free; large-small 39,000 · large-medium 59,000 · large-large 79,000

Banner — order braised fish, get a whole grilled hairtail free; large-small 39,000 · large-medium 59,000 · large-large 79,000

The wall banner (when we visited, May 2026) said:
“Order braised fish, and
a whole grilled hairtail is free”

Bada Punggyeong braised fish
large-small 39,000 won (small hairtail)
large-medium 59,000 won (medium)
large-large 79,000 won (large)

“Order by how hungry you are,
not by the number of people” —
four people who aren’t very hungry
can pick small or medium,
two hungry people medium or large.

Second banner — hot pot, obunjagi hot pot and whole grilled Jeju hairtail; the LED clock on the left reads 19:44

Second banner — hot pot, obunjagi hot pot and whole grilled Jeju hairtail; the LED clock on the left reads 19:44

Bada Punggyeong ttukbaegi (hot pot) 16,000 won
Obunjagi (small Jeju abalone) ttukbaegi 19,000 won
(only when the haenyeo divers are working)

Whole Jeju hairtail, grilled
small 28,000 · medium 38,000 · large 48,000 won

Extra side dishes are self-service,
and the origin labels end with
”Owner — product of Jeju”.

Since our review says
the free whole hairtail was the best,
we read it as: we ordered braised fish
and got the free hairtail.

We have no photo
of which size we ordered.
The wall clock read 7:44 pm.

📅 May 3

Not a single photo from this day.
With no record, we leave it blank.

⛴ May 4, leaving Jeju

The last day’s record is
six minutes from 4:38 pm
on the deck of a ferry leaving Jeju Port.

The deck floor is all blue,
and among a thatched-house and Hallasan sculpture,
a dol hareubang (stone grandfather)
and a tangerine sculpture
stands a JEJU letters photo zone.

Our family photos there all show faces,
so we leave them out.

4:44 pm — walking along the deck, Jeju Port and the city beyond the railing

4:44 pm — walking along the deck, Jeju Port and the city beyond the railing

From 4:42 pm we stood at the railing
and watched the sea.

As the ship cleared the breakwater,
the sun behind the clouds
lit the sea white.

The ferry home was
the Queen Jenuvia, Jeju Port to Mokpo,
with our car on board too.

👍 Who this is for

Nadeuli basket character (GPT-generated image)

✔ Anyone who wants the Udo Submarine
boarding point and prices in advance
✔ Anyone after braised hairtail in Seongsan
with a free whole grilled hairtail
✔ Anyone planning a Jeju trip
with their car on the ferry

All that’s left of our four days
is the afternoon of May 2
and the last day’s deck.

Still — the Udo Submarine
leaves from Seongsan Port
on a round trip back to Seongsan Port,
and Seongsan Bada Punggyeong’s braised fish
comes with a free whole grilled hairtail.

Those two things are useful right away
for whoever goes next, so we leave them here.
