This post is
more of a record
than a review.
We’ve only written down
what our photos show and when they were taken,
the house info we got when booking,
and what we could confirm about Galnam Port.
🌧 Day one: a rainy evening on the terrace
Before we left,
the forecast was rain
all three days,
with a 70–80% chance.
And on day one,
it really did rain.
After visiting Daegeumgul Cave
in the morning,
we checked in.
Our terrace photo from 7:05 p.m.
shows a wet floor,
raindrops on the awning
and a red iron railing.
Past the railing
is a pine-topped rock islet,
and at the ends of the breakwaters,
a red lighthouse and a white one.
In front of the railing
sat a fire pit with a grill on top.

The other way from the same terrace — a green-floored pool, tidal rocks and a white building on the headland
Turn around
and you see a green-floored pool
on the rooftop below,
and beyond it, tidal rocks
and a white building on the headland.
We left out our photos
of the living room and dinner,
since faces show clearly in them.
🏖 Day two: swimming at Galnam Port

The beach at Galnam Port — tents and parasols with tidal rocks behind, people on swim rings, and in the distance a rock islet and the red breakwater lighthouse
We have four beach photos
from day two,
taken between 12:38 and 12:41 p.m.
Tents, parasols
and camping chairs
line the sand,
and out in the water,
people in life jackets on swim rings
are scattered among the rocks.
The sky was overcast,
but it didn’t rain.

Day two, 7:06 p.m. — the pine-topped islet and tidal rocks from the water's edge
Around 7 p.m.,
the kids set up
camping chairs and folding chairs
by the water
and sat side by side, watching the sea.

7:07 p.m. — the kids in camping chairs, watching the sea (backs only)

the whole first floor!

🗓 The plan vs. what happened
Our pre-trip itinerary
also listed a makguksu
(buckwheat noodle) lunch,
Yonghwa Land, a cable car,
fresh raw fish,
and the Chogok Yonggul
Chotdae-bawi trail.
We have no record
of whether we actually went,
so we’re leaving them out.
On day three,
the afternoon of August 30,
we headed up
to Laguna Beach in Yangyang.
👍 Who this is for
![]()
✔ Several families looking
to share one floor
✔ Anyone looking to stay
right by the Galnam Port swimming beach
✔ Anyone who’d like to rent
water gear at the guesthouse
Rain was forecast
for all three days,
but it rained only on the first,
and on the other two days
we could swim at Galnam Port.
That’s our record
of a seaside guesthouse
where 19 of us had a whole floor.
